LAHCF is not the only group near Los Altos Hills that is creating a community-owned and operated fiber organization. Several of the local fiber organizations (including LAHCF) have joined to form a group, the League of Community Fiber Organizations (LOCFO), to help promote collaboration between these groups.
LOCFO meets a few times a year to help these newly launched community-fiber organizations communicate about their projects’ progress and challenges. They have found that sharing ways to deal with municipality governances and processes, such as permitting, can provide insights that can be the key to success for these organizations.
